ProQual Level 4 Diploma in Intelligence Operations (601/4295/9)

The UK’s leading OFQUAL approved vocational qualification in Intelligence Analysis.

The Level 4 Diploma in Intelligence Operations was launched in September 2014 and is perfect for experienced analysts looking to achieve a nationally recognised qualification as proof of their competence. The Level 4 focuses on influencing decision making through intelligence analysis. In addition to the most comprehensive analytical techniques training, this qualification includes sessions on effectively making intelligence based recommendations and maximising the delivery of intelligence products. As an intelligence analysis qualification, this diploma covers the full spectrum of intelligence analysis skills as defined by the National Occupational Standards

Those with a high academic aptitude are often selected for analytical roles, yet rarely are they offered nationally recognised analytical training specific to their role. This is an unfamiliar concept in many other professions and we believe all intelligence analysts should hold a qualification that recognises their niche area of competence. In achieving these qualifications an analyst can ensure parity with individuals working within similar roles throughout the intelligence and security community.

This programme equips analysts with a comprehensive knowledge and analytical skill set that can then be applied throughout their career.

Learning Objectives Include:

  • Managing intelligence based tasks.
  • Understanding the intelligence cycle
  • Intelligence collection planning
  • Effective use of intelligence sources
  • Collation of information for intelligence analysis
  • Analysing and interpreting intelligence using a range of analytical techniques.
  • Making assessments as a result of an analytical process.
  • Making recommendations based upon intelligence analysis
  • Creating appropriate intelligence products to inform decision making
  • Effective dissemination of intelligence (written and verbal)
  • Review and continuous improvement of the analytical process.

Intelligence analysis training is designed to support all analytical functions and can be flexible to specific individual and organisational requirements. This qualification focuses on the evaluation of both quantitative and qualitative information. Training is classroom based and includes a combination of theory assignment and practical exercises to ensure knowledge and competence requirements are achieved.  There are three core training pathways offered to support qualification achievement. These packages can be combined based on specific analytical roles and responsibilities. Attendance at a minimum of 6 workshops is required in order to achieve this qualification. The remaining work and assessment is carried out using our e-learning platform.
